COMMUNITY LEGAL SERVICE CLS The CLS is a national network of organisations which give information, advice and help with your rights, questions and legal problems. Their services include: Help with finding a solicitor or legal adviser Answering questions on your rights on Employment, Welfare, Benefits and Debt in the UK Help in finding information from other sources Advice on Legal Aid Free initial advice from qualified legal advisers Access to legal information leaflets Recorded messages about common legal problems 24 hours a day (in English) You can find out more about their services on www.clsdirect.org.uk (in English). If you are on a low wage or benefits you can call CLS Direct on the national helpline 08453454345 for free advice about benefits, tax credits, housing, employment, education or debt problems. They can arrange for translation if you inform them that you cannot speak English. You can also ask for advice at your local Citizens Advice Bureau (addresses Useful Contacts & Advice Section), which is part of the CLS network, for help with legal and rights procedures, employment, welfare, benefits, debt and housing issues. |
